DAY 1: Arrive into Porto and transfer by private car to the InterContinental PortoPalacio Das Cardosas. We suggest dinner at Antiqvvm restaurant: Refined and relaxed, there is a beautiful garden for alfresco dining as well as intimate indoor tables. Dining here is a sensory experience, each dish inspired by local flavours and produce. Overnight at InterContinental PortoPalacio Das Cardosas.

DAY 2: This morning visit the fish market of Matosinhos followed by lunch at Dom Peixe restaurant. In the afternoon enjoy a private cellar tour and tasting at Ramos Pinto with the chance to blend your very own port wine. Next, drive to the historic port cellars of Graham’s, one of the first port companies to invest in its own vineyards in the Douro Valley, for a guided tour around the cellars. If available, try sampling one of Graham’s earliest ports, blended in 1882. Then enjoy a sunset dinner overlooking the Douro River at Vinum, the estate restaurant that overlooks the Douro River.

DAY 3: After a leisurely breakfast, take a private car transfer to the Six Senses Douro Valley. Enjoy some time exploring the stunning resort with its plenty of shady nooks in the gardens; pamper yourself in the spa; and take to a sun lounger beside the pool. You could take advantage of the hotel’s wellness facilities. From aerial yoga to personal health advisors, and visiting experts, all the help you could need is at your fingertips.

In the afternoon, take a scenic drive to Quinta do Noval. You will be taken on a tour of the vineyards and cellars to sample some of the finest tawny and vintage ports, before a starlit al fresco dinner overlooking the estate. Private transfer back to the Six Senses Douro Valley and evening at leisure.

DAY 4: Spend this morning enjoying the facilities of the Six Senses. Then at lunchtime, experience a farm to table cooking class with the renowned local chef, followed by lunch. The afternoon and evening is yours to relax and enjoy a light dinner. Overnight at the Six Senses Douro Valley.

DAY 5:After breakfast you will be driven to Pinhão where the glorious Friendship I will be waiting for you. Step aboard this vintage 1957 yacht and watch the Douro Valley unfold from the water. Enjoy a four-hour private voyage along the Douro River, mooring en route for a scenic lunch and cellar tour. At the end, either return by car or perhaps indulge in a scenic helicopter flight back to the Six Senses.

DAY 6: Private transfer to Porto airport for your flight back home.
