Meander your way from Paarl to Franschhoek and on to Stellenbosch, tasting some of South Africa’s finest wines and excellent cuisine along the way.
The winelands are a mere 55 minute drive from Cape Town and about 15 minutes from each other, then onto Hermanus is around 1 hour’s drive. There are literally hundreds of wine estates to choose from, as well as some of South Africa’s finest restaurants. Most of the Estates offer tastings and some even offer gourmet picnics on grass embankments next to the river! Besides wines, there are great olive, strawberry and cheese farms to visit
Day 01 - Cape Town & Surround
Day 1 – 4: Ellerman House, Cape Town Upon arrival at Cape Town Airport you get a complimentary luxury road transfer from Cape Town Airport to Ellerman House. This superb luxury “home from home” boutique hotel is the quintessential location for discerning guests accustomed to the finer pleasures of life. Unsurpassed, sweeping views from Bantry Bay across the Atlantic Ocean to Robben Island are a privileged pleasure from the private balconies and the unrivalled lawned terraces surrounding the large, heated swimming pool. Ellerman also has a large collection of local artwork which guests can purchase. Your car hire will be dropped off at Ellerman House so that you can explore Cape Town at your leisure before heading off to the winelands. The hotel is crammed with collector’s items that speak of luxury and a quirky sense of opulence. We suggest a visit to Reuben’s Restaurant, Le Quartier Francais and some of South Africa’s finest wine estates on your doorstep. Meals: breakfast and local soft and alcoholic drinks

This morning we make our way to Hermanus via Sir Lowry’s Pass passing the apple growing regions. Birkenhead a sister property to La Residence is opulent, sumptuous and offers the most luxurious accommodation along the stunning coastline. It overlooks two of the best beaches in the area and Walker Bay where, in season, you can watch whales without stirring from your huge white sofa on the terrace. The Walker Bay also hosts excellent wine estates in the area and for the adventurous why not dive with Great Whites or visit Seal Island.

Drive back to Cape Town International Airport – about 45 minutes from Hermanus – and connect with your flight home.
