There are so many destinations to travel to in South Africa. With 2,800km of coastline and protected game reserve areas big enough to swallow up a small country, South Africa is a prime bush and beach holiday destination. Great for honeymooners, families, photographers and specialist visitors, there is an incredible range of attractions, activities and experiences on offer. We have designed a suggested program to take in the essence of South Africa covering Cape Town the “Mother City” a favourite, The Scenic Winelands with its amazing wines and cuisine, The Garden Route, South Africa’s highest Mountain, The Drakensberg and ending off your trip with a big five safari.
Day 01 - Cape Town & Surround
Arrive, Meet and Greet and transfer to Hotel. The rest of the day is at Leisure. Overnight Cape Town Meals; Breakfast
Day 02 - Cape Town & Surround
Full-Day City orientation & Table Mountain (weather permitting), Constantia Winelands and Kirstenbosch Gardens. Overnight Cape Town Meals; Breakfast
Day 03 - Cape Town & Surround
Full Cape Peninsular tour, driving through Camps Bay, Hout Bay, the world-famous Champans Peak to Cape Peninsular Nature Reserve, then through Simons Town and visit the Penguin Colony at Boulders Beach. Overnight Cape Town Meals; Breakfast

Day 04 - Cape Winelands
After breakfast, we make our way to the Winelands where you enjoy the scenery, tranquillity, wine tasting, cellar tours, fine wine and cuisine that this beautiful part of the western cape has to offer! You will be visiting South Africa’s gourmet capital Franschhoek, the historical town of Stellenbosch and Paarl with an optional visit to the Taal (language) Monument with picnic lunch at the Fairview Wine & Cheese Farm. Overnight Winelands Meals; Breakfast
Day 05 - Cape Winelands
Full day relaxed sightseeing with winetastings and Cellar Tour. Optional visit to Spier to visit the Cheetah Research Project and a visit to a crocodile farm. Overnight Winelands Meals; Breakfast
Day 06 - Garden Route
We leave today for the Garden Route. We will stop in Hermanus time permitting where you experience the best land-based whale watching in the world (July to August) and onto Knysna and Plettenberg via Wilderness. Overnight Garden Route Meals; Breakfast
Day 07 - Garden Route
Knysna , enjoy an excursion to the scenic Featherbed Nature Reserve, sample local oysters, take a cruise on Knysna lagoon or visit the Knysna Elephant Park. Also if you wish you could take a drive to Oudtshoorn the Ostrich Capital of the world via the scenic Outeniqua Pass and visit an Ostrich Farm, Cango Caves and various ranches in the area. Overnight Garden Route Meals; Breakfast
Day 08 - Garden Route
Plettenberg Bay, visit Robberg Nature reserve for a lovely beach walk, on its golden sandy beaches, a visit to Monkeyland (A primate sanctuary) and the adjacent Birds of Eden sanctuary is a must You can also take an ocean trip and swim with dolphins in this area. Overnight Garden Route Meals; Breakfast
Day 09 - KwaZulu-Natal
Today you make your way to Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight to Durban. Upon Arrival at Durban Airport, meet and greet and transfer to your hotel. Rest of day at Leisure Overnight Durban Coast Meals; Breakfast
Day 10 - KwaZulu-Natal
Half-Day City Tour and Ushaka Marine World. Afternoon at leisure to relax on the beach or visit the craft markets. Overnight Durban Coast Meals; Breakfast
Day 11 - KwaZulu-Natal
This morning we depart via the scenic Midlands of KwaZulu-Natal with its gentle rolling hills that rise into the Drakensberg Mountains, South Africa’s highest mountain. Overnight Drakensberg / Midlands Meals: Dinner and breakfast
Day 12 - KwaZulu-Natal
This day is available to explore the Drakenberg and the Midlands. Activities available are trout fishing, hiking, tennis, swimming or just relax and enjoy the beauty of your surrounds. Overnight Drakensberg / Midlands Meals: Dinner and breakfast
Day 13 - KwaZulu-Natal
You leave behind South Africa’s highest mountains and head northeast towards the famous Battlefields region. Check into your Lodge, and visit the historic Spioenkop Battlefield where the Boers resisted the English advances from atop Spioenkop Hill. On the Battle day, Paul Kruger ( Kruger Rand ), Winston Churchill and Ghandi was on the same hill. Go on a guided tour of the region which brings this famous battle to life. With a long and complex history since the early 1800s, Spion Kop (Spy Hill) and the Tugela River Valley presents a fascinating insight into the history of modern South Africa and the guided tours receive regular and widespread praise. Day 14 - KwaZulu-Natal
Your scenic historical tour continues as you head north to visit the famous battlefields of the 1879 Anglo-Zulu War. Explore the sites of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift where the British suffered their biggest defeat and their biggest victory in one day. Survivors from Isandlwana crossed the Buffalo River at a place which came to be named Fugitives Drift and this is exactly where your safari lodge is located. Led by historians, thought-provoking and often emotionally charged tours are conducted daily to Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift. Walks and horse rides through the reserve to view abundant game and birdlife are offered as well as fishing the 20km frontage on the Buffalo River. Accommodation is in large chalets with en suite bathrooms and private verandahs with a view of the reserve. Overnight Battlefields Meals: Full Board including local drinks and activities.

Day 15 - Kruger National Park
OPTION 1 – Extension: Leave the Battlefields behind taking with you a wealth of history and head eastwards to Phinda Private Game Reserve. An exceptional private game reserve that hosts the Big 5 and an array of plains game in a spectacular setting. All the lodges offer the utmost in luxury and you will have a choice of lodges to choose from. Our favourite is Mountain Lodge with its glorious rooms with wrap-around views of the scenic Ubombo Mountains and the South African bush below. It does promise a world-class Safari. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with your expert ranger, guided bush walks, sleep-outs and romantic dinners in the bush. Or you can just relax on your private balcony and watch the animals pass by and listen to the birds overhead. Overnight Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve Meals: Full Board including local drinks and activities.
Day 15 - KwaZulu-Natal
OPTION 2 – Extension: This morning drive to Durban Airport for your flight to Kruger International Airport. Meet and greet and transfer to your Private Game Lodge in the Sabi Sands in the Greater Kruger area. Overnight Private Game Lodge ( Full Board and local drinks)
Day 16 - Kruger National Park
OPTION 1 – Extension: Full day game activities. Overnight Hluhluwe Umfolozi Game Reserve Meals: Full Board including local drinks and activities.
Day 16 - Kruger National Park
OPTION 2 – Extension: Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives with your expert ranger, guided bush walks, sleep-outs and romantic dinners in the bush. Or you can just relax and watch the animals pass by and listen to the birds overhead.
Day 17 - Kruger National Park
OPTION 1 – Extension: After morning Game Drive fly to Johannesburg to continue with your onward travel arrangements.
Day 17 - Kruger National Park
OPTION 2 – Extension: Departure after one last game drive and breakfast, check out of the Phinda Game Reserve and drive south along the N2 to Durban for about three hours to continue with your onward travel arrangements.
