Georgia

Georgia: home to the first Europeans, the birthplace of wine. Boasting an astounding level of eco-diversity, and a healthy number of UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Georgia is an untapped European destination waiting to be discovered. Lying at the crossroads of trade and tradition for centuries, it’s a country of breath-taking landscapes, a fabulous cuisine, and a rich history stretching back over 5,000 years.

The capital city of Tbilisi is full of charm, its old town of winding streets, chic cafes and quirky shops begging to be strolled with a local guide.
On the coast of the Black Sea lies Georgia’s second city, Batumi, a significant commercial hub and now also a popular warm weather retreat for locals in the know.
In the East of the country, Kakheti is renowned for its wine, monasteries, hilltop villages and laid back locals.  The scenery reminds many of the Tuscan hills and lends itself perfectly to gentle hikes.
Further to the northwest in the Svaneti region, trek through the high Caucasus near the border with Russia; visit towns dominated by defensive towers and cobbled backstreets; and sample the local firewater called chacha.
